Mission

At SOCAL Water Polo Foundation, our mission is to nurture and develop student water polo players within the Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) high school areas, including Beckman, Foothill, and Tustin High Schools. Our commitment is to enable these athletes to excel in high school and college water polo, leveraging their full potential. Through substantial investments in TUSD and a resolute focus on creating a Positive Environment, SOCAL WPF endeavors to achieve victory while imparting vital life lessons of youth sports.

We champion the concept of scholar-athletes who not only thrive in the pool, but also excel in their academics, communities, and families. Our core values center on fostering sportsmanship and character, cultivating the belief that these attributes shape outstanding citizenship. As a united entity comprising the Board, Head Coaches, Coaching Staff, and all members, we unite around key priorities:

Core Values-

1. Scholastics: Recognizing our athletes as students first, we embrace the idea of successful student athletes. We firmly believe that achievements in both academia and athletics pave the way for diverse future opportunities. The discipline gained from aquatics enhances multiple aspects of a well-rounded life.

2. Citizenship: Character serves as the cornerstone of good citizenship. The valuable life lessons imparted by amateur sports underscore the significance of gracious victory, graceful defeat, relentless effort, resilience in the face of failure, continuous learning, goal setting, and embracing mistakes as part of the journey. We instill respect for teammates, opponents, referees, and the rules, fostering a sense of community.

3. Swimming: Acknowledging swimming as an enduring source of joy, we stress its role as a fundamental skill for water polo. A symbiotic relationship exists between strong swimmers and skilled water polo players. We encourage our athletes to cultivate a fervor for swimming swiftly, establishing a solid cardio foundation to excel at the highest echelons.

SOCAL WPF proudly stands as an active member of the Positive Coaching Alliance, exemplifying our unwavering dedication to fostering positive experiences and growth for all involved.
