SOCAL WPF Receives 2011 USAWP Chairman's Cup as Best Water Polo Club In The Nation
For the third consecutive year SOCAL Water Polo Foundation, Inc., Tustin, California based water polo club was recognized as the Best Water Polo Club in the Nation, and awarded the Chairman's Cup at the USAWP National Assembly. SOCAL first received the Chairman's Cup in 2006 and then again in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Club President/General Manager, Andrew Rowe asked SOCAL's 12U Boys Coach, Paden Mitchell, to accept the beautiful silver trophy cup on behalf of SOCAL, at a banquet held in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Coach Paden's 12U Boys team brought home their first ever 12U Boys Gold medal and he proudly accepted the trophy on SOCAL 's behalf.
The Chairman's Cup pays tribute to the excellent year SOCAL had in national competitions. Amongst SOCAL's many accomplishments were: the 14U girls threepeat gold medal at the Champions Cup in Indiana, the 12U Boys and 21U Girls taking Gold at JO's in Orange County, the 14U girls and 16U Girls earning silver, and the 14U Boys, 16U Boys and 18U Girls receiving bronze. Achieving at tournaments is one part of SOCAL's rich tradition; achieving in life and learning the life lessons of youth sports are equally of value. We have a great sense of community and our accomplishments can be attributed to the dedication and effort of our athletes, coaches, parents and volunteers, who put others ahead of themselves. We are successful because everyone contributes. Congratulations to everyone on winning the 2011 Chairman's Cup.
